Gradius III est un jeu vidéo de tir à défilement de 1989 développé et publié par Konami pour les arcades. Il est sorti initialement uniquement au Japon le 11 décembre 1989. Il s'agit du troisième jeu de la série Gradius. Le jeu a été porté sur la Super Nintendo Entertainment System au Japon en 1990 et en Amérique du Nord en 1991, et a servi de titre de lancement pour la console en Amérique du Nord. La version arcade ne verra jamais le jour en Occident jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit incluse aux côtés de Gradius IV dans une compilation deux-en-un pour la PlayStation 2 et dans la collection Gradius pour la PlayStation Portable.
